Getting Started

Activate DreamBox

For work DreamBox requires activation

1. Visit our site www.dreambox.hk and choose DreamBox Service Software in DOWNLOAD section.
2. Get latest version of DBSS
3. Install DBSS
4. Connect DreamBox and install drivers (they are in DBSS folder)
5. Run DBSS
6. Choose DreamBox->Update Firmware in main menu (You should have stable internet connection)

Install and Uninstall DreamBox Service Software (DBSS)

To install DreamBox Service Software 

1. Ensure that your computer meets the minimum System Requirements.
2. Double click SetupDreambox.exe.
3. Follow the instructions in the Setup Wizard.

To uninstall DreamBox Service Software

Way No.1:

1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start.
2. Search for DreamBox from the Program.
3. Choose Uninstall, then DreamBox Service Software will be uninstalled.

Way No.2:

1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start and click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
3. From the list of currently installed programs, select DreamBox, and click Remove.

Notice: After uninstallation, you can find that the folder of DreamBox is still there. This is because the files or folders which were created when you run DreamBox can not be erased by the Uninstall program. You may delete them if they are useless to you.

Start working with the DreamBox

To start working with the DreamBox you should perform the following steps:

1. Connect it to your PC using USB connector.
2. Operating system will inform you about new device detected.
3. If operating system has not identified new device automatically, you should select manual search for needed driver. Specify the path to the DreamBox driver and wait until system installs driver.
4. Then open Start->Settings->Control Panel->System, on the Hardware tab click the Device Manager button. In the appeared window, open the Universal Serial Bus controllers node. Make sure that this node contains the DreamBox sub node and there are no conflicts. If there is a conflict, contact hardware/software consultant.
5. Run the DBSS application.
6. The program will notify you of your serial number and application version. Light indicator on DreamBox device will be green.
7. To update the DBSS version, driver or firmware, visit our web site at http://www.dreambox.hk.

Access is provided for free within one year period since the first DreamBox update (date of the first update + 1 year).
